The move is intended to provide music lovers with more camping space as well as better opportunities for accommodations outside of campgrounds, and will also allow for more opportunities to boost local tourism.
“The first festival-only zone in the world will be created at Ansan’s Daebu Sea Breeze Theme Park, where the venue will be twice as big compared to the festival’s previous location,” CJ E&M representatives said in news reports. “It is the best outdoor location for festivals. We are going to have more convenient facilities including convenience stores, parking lots and camping zones.”
Jisan Valley Rock Festival was first launched in 2009 and has since been responsible for bringing top headlining acts in the rock music industry including Radiohead, Elvis Costello and the Imposters, Muse, Incubus and Weezer as well as many local notables such as Glen Check, Busker Busker, 10cm, Sister’s Barbershop and the Black Skirts.
The inaugural Ansan Valley Rock Festival is scheduled to take place from July 26-28. The headlining acts for this year’s lineup have not yet been announced.

매년 가장 기대되는 락 페스티벌 중 하나로 손꼽히는 지산밸리 락페스티벌이 안산시 대부도로 장소를 옮겨 “안산밸리 락 페스티벌”로 이름을 바꿨다.
안산밸리 락 페스티벌은 올해부터 경기도 안산시에 위치한 대부바다향기 테마파크에서 개최될 예정이다. 페스티벌 관계자는 새로운 장소로 이동함으로써 인천 스키장에 위치한 지산밸리와 비교해 보다 접근성이 풍부해지고 편리하고 넓은 공간을 페스티벌이 열리는 3일간의 한여름 밤 동안 관객들에게 선사할 수 있을 것이라고 언급했다.
이번 이동은 음악 애호가들에게 보다 넓은 캠핑장소를 마련해주는 것은 물론 캠핑장 이외에도 숙박을 할 수 있는 다양한 공간을 제공하기 위해 이루어졌다. 또, 지역 관광을 활성화시키는 데 있어 주요한 역할을 할 것도 기대된다.
“안산 대부바다향기 테마파크는 전세계에서 유일한 ‘음악축제만을 위한 곳’으로서 예전 장소와 비교해 약 2배 정도 더 넓은 공간을 활용할 수 있습니다” 라고 안산밸리 락 페스티벌 주최측인 CJ E&M은 현지 언론을 통해 밝혔다. CJ는 “안산은 페스티벌을 위한 최적의 야외장소입니다. 편의점, 주차장과 캠핑장을 비롯한 다양한 편의시설을 구축할 것입니다” 라고 밝혔다.
지산밸리 락 페스티벌은 2009년에 처음 열렸고 그로부터 라디오헤드, 엘비스 코스텔로 앤 더 임포스터스, 뮤즈, 인큐버스, 위져와 같은 세계 최정상 락 뮤지션들과 글렌체크, 버스커버스커, 10cm, 언니네이발관, 검정치마와 같은 국내에서 손꼽히는 음악가들을 초청했다.
안산밸리 락 페스티벌은 7월 26일터 3일 간 열릴 예정이다. 올해의 메인 헤드라이너는 아직 발표되지 않았다. (코리아헤럴드)
