Hollywood‘s Walt Disney Co. is developing spinoff films about “Star Wars” icons Han Solo and Boba Fett, EW.com reported Wednesday.

The studio this week confirmed several standalone “Star Wars” movies are in the works, as are three sequels to the established six-movie saga.

However, no plot lines or release dates for the spinoff flicks have been officially announced.

EW.com quoted sources as saying two of the standalone films will focus on young versions of fan favorites Han Solo, an intergalactic smuggler, and bounty hunter extraordinaire Boba Fett.

Harrison Ford, 70, played Han decades ago in “Star Wars: A New Hope,” “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.”

Jeremy Bulloch, 67, played Boba Fett in “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.”

EW.com said Disney declined to comment on its report about the Han Solo and Boba Fett side projects. (UPI)

헐리우드 영화사 월트디즈니 사가 SF영화 ‘스타워즈’ 시리즈의 등장인물인 ‘한 솔로’와 ‘보바 펫’을 주인공으로 한 스핀오프 작품을 제작 중이라고 미국 연예전문지 엔터테인먼트위클리(EW)가 수요일 보도했다.

월트디즈니 사는 지난 주 ‘스타워즈’ 시리즈의 기존 6부작의 후속으로 별도의 3편을 제작 중인 것과는 별도로 ‘스타워즈’와 관련된 독자적 작품들을 작업 중이라고 밝혔다. 그러나 이 스핀오프 작품들의 스토리 라인이나 개봉일에 대한 공식 정보는 아직 공개되지 않았다.

EW는 소식통을 인용해 신작들 가운데 두 편은 기존 시리즈에서 큰 인기를 끈 밀수업자 캐릭터 ‘한 솔로’와 현상금 사냥꾼 캐릭터 ‘보바 펫’에 대한 내용을 담게 될 것이라고 보도했다.

수십 년 전 스타워즈 시리즈에서 ‘한 솔로’ 역은 해리슨 포드(70), ‘보바 펫’ 역은 제레미 불록(68)이 맡았다.

EW는 디즈니 측이 한 솔로와 보바 펫에 대한 사이드 프로젝트를 진행 중이라는 보도에 대해 언급하기를 거부했다고 전했다. (코리아헤럴드)
