Ewha Womans University has agreed with Bangladesh’s Asian University for Women to cooperate in nurturing women’s talents worldwide and expanding educational and research networks, the Seoul-based university said Monday.

Under the deal signed Friday focusing on professor and student exchanges, Ewha will open its Ewha Global Partnership Program to AUW-recommended students. The program has a full scholarship ― covering tuition fees, living expenses and airfare ― for students from developing countries in Asia and the Middle East.

The Asian University for Women was established in Chittagong, Bangladesh, in 2008 to provide education opportunities to Asian women who are victims of war, poverty and discrimination.

Currently, about 400 students from 14 Asian and Middle Eastern countries including Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Vietnam and Palestine are enrolled. All classes are taught in English.
