Lotte Hotel announced it would open a new hotel in Guam at the end of the year. The hotel is remodeling the Aurora Resort and Spa and transforming it into one of its chain hotels.

As part of Lotte’s goal of creating the “most luxurious hotel” in Guam, the hotel invested about $9 million in remodeling the existing resort building, which currently features 242 rooms, four restaurants, three ballrooms, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa and a chapel.

Lotte Hotel said it will send its Seoul staff to Guam to upgrade the services to meet the hotel’s standards. The hotel is also expected to open new hotels in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2014 and Shenyang, China, in 2017.
