Singer Ko Young-wook, accused of sexually molesting and assaulting a minor, was indicted and sent to prosecution on Tuesday.

Ko allegedly lured a 13-year-old girl into his car and made an inappropriate move on her on Dec. 1 last year. He is said to have approached the girl with the promise that he would help her become a celebrity.

Additionally, the former member of K-pop group Roo’Ra was under police investigation last March and April for allegedly leading an 18-year-old girl to drink at his apartment and sexually assaulting her.

Police sought an arrest warrant for Ko on charges of sexual assault of a minor, but the arrest warrant for the 37-year-old singer was rejected by the court on the grounds of ensuring his legal defense rights. Ko was later sued by two different women, but denied wrongdoing.

The Seodaemun police department sought an arrest warrant for Ko to investigate the recent incident, but the prosecution ordered the department file for the arrest warrants for both the previous and current sexual assault allegations.

Ko was detained on Thursday.

미성년자를 성폭행•강제 추행한 혐의(미성년자 간음 등)로 가수 고영욱씨를 수사해온 서울 서대문경찰서는 사건 일체를 기소 의견으로 검찰에 송치했다고 15일 밝혔다.

고씨는 지난달 1일 오후 4시40분께 서울 서대문구 홍은동의 한 도로에서 귀가 중인 여중생 이모(13)양에게 자신이 가수 프로듀서라며 접근해 차에 태우고 몸을 만 진 혐의를 받고 있다.

고씨는 지난해 3월과 4월에도 김모(18)양에게 연예인을 시켜주겠다고 접근해 자신의 오피스텔로 데려가 함께 술을 마신 뒤 성폭행한 혐의로 경찰 조사를 받았다.

경찰은 당시 고씨에 대해 구속영장을 신청했으나 고씨의 방어권 보장을 이유로 영장이 기각됐고, 이 사건은 불구속 상태로 검찰로 송치됐다. 당시 김양 외 또 다른 여성 2명도 고씨에게 성폭행을 당했다며 고씨를 고소했지만 이후 소를 취하했고 고 씨는 관련 혐의를 모두 부인하는 것으로 알려졌다.

서울 서대문경찰서는 지난 4일 이양을 성추행한 혐의로 고씨에 대한 사전구속영 장을 검찰에 신청했다.

그러나 경찰은 고씨의 이전 성폭행 혐의 사건과 병합수사해 재청구하라는 검찰의 수사 지휘를 받아 보강수사를 거쳐 8일 다시 사전구속영장을 신청했으며, 고씨는 10일 구속됐다. (연합)
