Universal Ballet to perform ‘Swan Lake’ in Japan

Jan. 9, 2013 - 20:17 By Korea Herald
Universal Ballet, a leading ballet company in South Korea, will begin its first overseas tour for this year in Tokyo, the company said Wednesday.

Dancers will perform “Swan Lake,” the very essence of classical ballet, at Tokyo’s U-port Hall on Jan. 19-20, it said.

Universal Ballet’s version of “Swan Lake” has been acclaimed in South Korea and 13 countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, Germany and Italy.

The ballet company had a performance tour of four Japanese cities for “Shim Chung,” a modern-day classical piece created for the company, in 2010. It also staged “Giselle” in three Japanese cities in 2011. (Yonhap News)
