Dec. 30, 2012 - 21:24 By Korea Herald
North Korea has started festivities for the upcoming one-year anniversary of leader Kim Jong-un’s appointment as supreme commander of the communist nation’s massive armed forces, state media said Saturday.

Kim was named supreme commander of the 1.19 million-strong military on Dec. 30, 2011, soon after inheriting power from his father, late leader Kim Jong-il. (Yonhap News)
