Sheraton Incheon Hotel recognized as ‘World’s Leading Green Hotel’

Sheraton Incheon Hotel received the “World’s Leading Green Hotel” award at the 2012 World Travel Awards ceremony held at the Oberoi hotel in New Delhi, India, on Wednesday.

The hotel’s green policy, along with the continuous growth in business, has been recognized with numerous international awards around the world.

The World Travel Awards acknowledge and celebrate commitment to excellence in the hotel industry and rewards organizations that have continued to raise the standard of their product and services every year.

Richard Suter, general manager of Sheraton Incheon Hotel, announced that the hotel would continue to support environment-friendly activities by participating in Starwood’s “30/20 by 20” program promises a 30-percent reduction in energy use and a 20-percent reduction in water use by 2020.

Sheraton Incheon Hotel has launched an “eco-friendly” package with the announcement of the award and will be promoting activities for a green environment through its “Make a green choice” campaign. The hotel also hosts eco-friendly activities for the surrounding areas as well, such as regularly participating in cleanups in the neighboring area with communities and the promotion of a package to meet sustainability.

Sheraton is part of the Starwood Hotels and Resorts brand and boasts a portfolio of more than 400 hotels in 70 countries, including more than 60 resorts worldwide.

The World Travel Awards was founded in 1993 and is recognized globally as the foremost recognition of excellence in product and service worldwide.
