Samsung Electronics, partners discuss shared-growth plan

Nov. 29, 2012 - 19:54 By Chung Joo-won
Samsung Electronics officials discussed next year’s shared-growth plan with its partners at Sungkyunkwan University’s Suwon campus on Thursday, the company said.

High-ranking Samsung officials and about 450 first- and second-tier subsidiary firms of the tech giant assessed their business-to-business communication and difficulties in operation.

“In this time of great challenge, calls for change and communication are key for strengthening corporate competitiveness,” Samsung Electronics’s co-prosperity center head Choi Byung-suk said.

The congregation also reviewed and sought solutions for a list of obstacles that Samsung officials brought up after paying individual visits to 557 of Samsung’s affiliate companies back in August and September.

One of the major obstacles discussed included affiliate firms’ difficulties in dealing with Chinese law due to lack of expertise.

Samsung Electronics plans to continue providing Chinese law and other legal knowledge along with local news. The electronics firm will also offer periodical training courses to the Chinese branch heads of Samsung affiliate companies.

For successful settlement of communication-abounding corporate culture, Samsung Electronics has regularly held the co-prosperity talks twice a year.
