Rep. Jhun Ha-jin of the ruling Saenuri Party on Friday hosted a debate to mark the launch of the National Assembly’s “Forum to Foster Future Leaders.”

The debate, titled “Republic of Korea to be Where Even B-Boys can Receive State Scholarship,” invited prominent professors and experts to share views on how to raise future leaders through diversified education.

“Our society only views those that excel in studies or with a good profile as talented people,” Rep. Jhun said.

“True leaders of the future should be those who can be passionate about their work based on their own characters, and we need to form a social environment that acknowledges such people,” he added.

The forum joined by 17 other lawmakers will be devoted to seeking ways to provide wider state scholarship opportunities and preparing bills and policies necessary to diversify the development of the workforce.
