KTO releases carbon neutral travel package

July 27, 2012 - 20:18 By Korea Herald
The Korea Tourism Organization introduced a carbon neutral travel package and plans to donate part of its proceeds to an environmental NGO.

The proceeds will also help anti-desertification and yellow dust prevention projects in Mongolia.

Jointly developed by Korea Railroad Corporation, Hotel Sky Park, Hotel Shilla Duty Free and Green Asia, the travel package covers a three-day trip to Kanto region of Japan, which includes the greater Tokyo area.

The package includes fare for the airport train or hotel shuttle bus between the airport and hotel.

Some of the proceeds will go to Green Asia, an environmental NGO accredited by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, which will plant trees using the funds acquired from the carbon credits.
