July 24, 2012 - 20:11 By Korea Herald
Korean health food manufacturer Chunho Food announced on Tuesday that it has started receiving letters of thanks from foreign leaders for gifts it presented to attendees during the 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit held earlier this year.

According to news reports, Chunho Food’s president, Kim Young-shik, gifted attendees with the brand’s representative cherry extract health product, “Sansuyu 1000 Premium,” as well as wine vinegar.

In a letter included with the gifts, Kim also asked the conference attendees to proactively help Korea in building good relations with their home countries, reports said.

About 53 country heads and representatives from four international organizations, including the United Nations, attended the conference. It was held earlier this year from March 26-27 in southern Seoul.

So far, Chunho Food has received letters of gratitude from several country heads, including Brazil, Turkey, Israel, Japan and others, Yonhap News said.

According to the reports, the current Brazilian president, Dilma Rouseff, added a personal touch by referencing Kim’s autobiography in her thank-you letter.

In presenting the items, Kim reportedly wanted to promote Korea and help the country build good relations with its international neighbors.

Chunho Food has a history of presenting dignitaries and heads of state with goodwill gifts.

In 2010, it presented attendees at the 2010 G20 Summit with gifts, and in return received thank you letters from about 15 country representatives, reports said.
