Samsung Group said Wednesday it plans to pardon the wrongdoings its employees committed on the job to mark Samsung Electronics’ chairman Lee Kun-hee’s 25th year in office in December.
According to the group officials, the country’s biggest conglomerate is putting moves forward to erase the records involving professional negligence of its employees, including executives, later this year.
“It has yet to be confirmed but it is true that it has been picked as an option to be considered,” said a Samsung official. “If the plan becomes fixed, we believe about 1,000 employees will be reviewed.”

The official, however, added that those who were involved in corruption activities that caused damage to the conglomerate will be left out of the pool.
“The measure is being sought to make a better working environment for our workers for them to concentrate on their jobs by deleting their records of small mistakes,” the official said.
This is not the first time, but the fourth, that Samsung has gone forward with such action. In 1993, the conglomerate took similar actions in line with its chairman Lee’s sixth year in office and again in 1996. It also recently deleted the fault records of its employees in 2008.
