A 36-year-old Florida artist has set up an online page to support her disabled kitten that was born without a pelvis or his two hind legs.
Carrie Hawks found the young cat in the woods near her father’s workplace along with a group of other feral cats looking for food.
Since then she has named the cat “Anakin” and raised it as her own.
Hawks took Anakin to a vet to assess the cat’s health conditions and an X-ray showed that the tot is missing his pelvis and his hind legs but the rest of his anatomy is normal.
The artist said cats are her inspiration and models for work.
“I have always felt a special connection to cats because of their unique personalities. This helped make them a natural subject choice for me,” she said.
So far, Akin has drawn 718 followers on his Twitter account that was designed to accept donations for his medical bills and share the cat’s daily life.
Hawk has also posted a number of videos and photos of the white and dark charcoal gray-colored cat on Facebook in order to allow animal lovers to track his progress as he grows.
