A missing girl, who was speculated to have been kidnapped and caused a racket on the Internet, turned out to be a simple runaway, according to police.

Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said Sunday that 19-year-old Kim was staying in her grandmother’s home.

Kim reportedly ran away from her home because of her "family issues," although full details of the case have not yet been released.

The simple case started to inflate last week when an anonymous user wrote on his or her twitter account that Kim may have been kidnapped. The case went viral after thousands of Internet users, including celebrities such as writer Lee Oi-soo and singer Huh Gak, re-tweeted the message.
