Ministers to discuss ‘connectivity’ in Seoul meet

May 14, 2012 - 20:15 By Korea Herald
The Korea Communications Commission said Monday that a ministerial-level meeting on broadcast and telecommunications will be held at the COEX Convention Center in southern Seoul on Tuesday.

Organized for the eighth consecutive year, this year’s meeting will focus on “connectivity,” according to KCC officials.

The meeting will be taken part by ministers from 17 countries including Laos, Vietnam, New Zealand, Australia, Venezuela, South Africa and South Korea.

Ministers from Australia, Rwanda, Indonesia, New Zealand, Vietnam and Laos will make keynote speeches and all ministers will participate in discussion involving the subjects.

On a related front, the meeting is also aimed at assisting the country’s IT firms to go overseas with their business portfolios, enhancing such cooperation between the participating nations, KCC officials said.

“With the ministers sharing their information on their related policies through this meeting, we expect the overseas business for our companies to see a rise as the countries form a close relationship with Korea,” said a KCC official.
