Anti-slavery film to screen in Daegu

May 9, 2012 - 19:06 By Korea Herald
A film tackling issues of slavery is to be shown in Daegu on May 11 and 13. The public screenings of “Call + Response” will run at Buy the Book cafe on May 11 at 9 p.m. and at 7 p.m. on May 13. A discussion of how to tackle human trafficking in Korea will follow.

Newly formed Christian organization Call to Freedom is working in Daegu under the tutelage of Hope Be Restored, a ministry of the Onnuri Church in Seoul. And the Dynamic Daegu Task Force is working under umbrella organization Love 146 to address the issue.

The film being screened aims to highlight that there are more slaves today than ever before in human history, and expose the profits made by modern day slave traders.
