Global film to screen on Earth Day

April 18, 2012 - 19:02 By Korea Herald
Screenings of the film “One Day on Earth” are to be held at the Laughing Tree Lab in Seoul on international Earth Day.

The documentary is the first-ever collaboration of simultaneous filming occurring in every country of the world, and is to be screened at venues across the globe on April 22.

The film was produced from 3,000 hours of footage shot by people all over the world, from students with cellphones to professional filmmakers on Oct. 10, 2010. The finished product portrays pockets of diverse human experience from footage of a military parade in North Korea shot by a Chinese tourist to views of Mecca and the Galapagos Islands.

On Sunday, Korea-based international artistic group AWEH will hold free screenings at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. with English subtitles and a showing at 6 p.m. with Korean subtitles. Another screening may be held at 10 p.m. with the language of the subtitles to be decided depending on the demand.
