M Countdown to present Japan show

Busker Busker, Sistar, Tiger JK to perform in Saitama


Korean pop music TV program M Countdown will shoot its third Japan show on May 25 at Saitama Super Arena, Saitama, Japan.

The show, titled “M Countdown Hello Japan” showcases 16 artists from Korea and Japan, and is scheduled to be aired on May 26.

Korean artists performing in M Countdown Hello Japan include: Korean hip-pop artists Yoon Mi-rae, Tiger JK and Dynamic Duo; singer John Park; Korean boy bands Supernova, F.T. Island, MBLAQ, U-Kiss; indie band Busker Busker; and Korean girl groups Secret, Miss A, 4minute, Sistar and A Pink. Two teams of Japanese artists, J Soul Brothers and E-Girls, will also take the stage.

“This tour goes beyond just idol groups. We have hip-hop groups like Dynamic Duo and Tiger JK, and non-dancing artists like Busker Busker and John Park. It’s an opportunity to show Japanese fans a variety of K-pop music at the same time,” said an Mnet spokesperson.

M Countdown Hello Japan will air on music channels across Asia, including Mnet, Space Shower TV, Mnet Japan, and tvN Asia.

The show’s first Japan tour took place in 2006 as part of events celebrating the opening of Mnet Japan and showcased top Korean artists including BoA, Lee Hyo-ri, Shinhwa, TVXQ. The second tour took place in 2007.
