Students to get insight into Russia, Belarus

April 1, 2012 - 20:21 By Korea Herald
The top Russian and Belarusian envoys to Korea are to host a forum for students interested in their countries on April 7.

Russian Ambassador Konstantin Vasilievich Vnukov and Belarusian Ambassador Natalia Zhylevich will deliver speeches to students from more than 30 Korean universities at the forum at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies’ Aegun Hall.

A Q&A session will also be held by diplomats, as well as professors who have studied in the countries, with a chance for Russian language students to practice their skills.

Professors from the Belarusian State University are also coming to Korea to meet Korean students at the forum.

Attendees will get the chance to enter a lottery to win university course discounts, books and souvenirs from the two countries.

A Belarusian Embassy spokesman said they were holding the second forum of its kind as more students were showing interest in learning Russian with an eye to take advantage of business opportunities in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Students will give a performance at the event and a Russian book fair will also be held.
