LG Electronics said Tuesday it is launching three different 3-D home theater products in the North American area beginning in March as the firm aims to gain shares in the region’s 3-D audio and video markets.
With plans to encourage people to think of LG when it comes to 3-D, the local electronics giant will display its new 3-D home theater lineup together with the firm’s Cinema 3-D TV at stores across the region in the first half of this year, said company officials.
The three different models that are scheduled for release are equipped with 3-D “sound zooming” technology and also enable people to have an improved 3-D experience since the volume changes in sync with the display, LG officials said.

They also said the home theater items offer 3-D speakers and 360-degree reflector technology that enhances the sound, adding that people could also make use of the smart TV functions such as 3-D content and TV applications.
“We expect to give a surprising experience with our 3-D home theater system ― one that is pleasant for the eyes and ears,” said Kim Jin-yong, senior vice president of the car and media business unit at the company.
“Following our success in the 3-D TV market, we also will move to take the top position in the 3-D audio and video market to position LG as the most competitive player in 3-D home entertainment.”
