SEOUL, Nov. 15 (Yonhap) -- Disgraced comedian-turned-director Shim Hyung-rae was indicted without physical detention Tuesday on charges of not paying workers of his own movie production house, prosecutors said.

Shim, the head of Younggu-Art Entertainment, was accused of failing to pay 891 million won ($791,296) in monthly wages and retirement allowances to his employees from August last year until July of this year, they said.

The employees filed a complaint with the Seoul metropolitan agency of employment and labor over the unpaid wages in August. The prosecution took over the case from the agency last month and summoned Shim for questioning on the allegations last week.

Shim admitted most of the charges against him during the questioning, according to prosecutors.
