Kim Jin-ho, head of GlaxoSmithKline, received an appreciation plaque from the Korean Association for the Study of the Liver at 12th Liver Day in Seoul last week, company officials said.
A decade of his past activities and efforts for preventing hepatitis, including opening a “Hope Concert” and raising public awareness to the disease, were highly noticeable to the KASL members, the officials said.
“As our company produces drugs for liver disorders, I wanted to ease the pain of the patients with liver diseases and their families through various events,” Kim said.

He also noted that he will continue to make more contributions for social goods, to take a step closer to a disease-free society.
The Hope Concert, which began in 2010 to brighten the future of children in need of care and protection, is one of his achievements of many share the pain of liver patients through music.
GSK has been sponsoring the Hope Concert for the last 11 years in association with Korean violinist Kang Dong-suk, the host of the concert.
