Seoul kicks off conference of lawyers from Asia-Pacific

Oct. 9, 2011 - 15:08 By
South Korea kicked off an international legal conference Sunday to discuss new developments in financial, intellectual property and energy issues, the event’s organizers said.

Some 900 lawyers, judges, prosecutors and other legal experts from the Asia-Pacific region also plan to exchange opinions on laws governing foreign investment, antitrust, Internet, labor and human rights, organizers said. The meeting is set to end on Wednesday.

It is third time for Seoul to host the event for LAWASIA, an international organization of lawyers’ associations, individual lawyers, judges and legal academics from Asia and the Pacific. It also hosted the meeting in 1977 and 1999.
