A cycling challenge is to be held in Chuncheon on Sept. 17.
Keen cyclists can choose between taking part in a six- or 12-hour course in the Gangwon Province countryside.
Riders for the six-hour course should meet at Chuncheon Station at 9 a.m. on the day for a 10 a.m. start. The route is on quiet country roads and includes a climb to the top of Soyang Dam.
Participants for the 12-hour course should meet at the station at 6 a.m. for an 80 kilometer loop from Chuncheon to Hongcheon and includes four climbs, before joining on with the other route.
There will also be options to leave the main routes to complete more drastic climbs and challenge for the title of King of the Mountain champion for either the six-hour or 12-hour race.
All 12 hour participants must have a cycling computer which should be set to zero before starting out. All cyclists must wear a helmet, as is the law in Korea. The event costs 25,000 to enter to cover the cost of prizes and refreshments. Participants are also invited to join for a local dinner afterwards.
