Japan’s largest travel website operator Rakuten Travel said it will open an office in Busan. After opening an office in Seoul in 2004, the travel agency has been marketing to Japanese tourists seeking places to stay in Korea. In 2008, the company signed an agreement with the Korea Tourism Organization to promote Korean tourism to Japanese travelers. The opening of the Busan office will contribute to promoting accommodations in Busan among Japanese tourists, the company said.
Rakuten Travel has 12 offices in Asia-Pacific, including those in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Thailand and Guam.
