Children’s home summer program

June 15, 2011 - 18:39 By Kirsty Taylor
A Gyeongbuk Province orphanage is seeking English-teaching volunteers for its summer program. Emmanuel Children’s Home in the city of Gimcheon is looking for adult volunteers to live on-site to live and help at the center during August.

There are 115 children at the orphanage ranging in age from newborn babies to college students.

Korean Kids and Orphanage Outreach Mission will provide training, support, and translation assistance for the volunteers during their stay to run from Aug 7-13. Throughout the day, volunteers will help the children learn English through tutoring, games and communal chores. Anyone interested in learning Korean can also organize a daily language exchange.

The volunteer opportunity is open to those already in Korea or those who can make their own arrangements to travel here.
