A concert hall specially designated for K-pop will open in Tokyo amid increasing popularity of Korean entertainers in the country.
The 198-seat facility, to open on May 27, will be located at Yebisu Garden Place, a popular tourist site for shopping and entertainment.
The operator expects that it will accommodate audiences of up to 120,000 a year.
According to Sankei Sports, a local newspaper, the project is focused on “quality music with overflowing dignity.”
The venue’s opening show will feature Apeace, a 21-member pop group. Seven members at a time will take turns performing for the three-part concert.

日 첫 K-POP 전용극장 27일 개관
일본에 처음으로 생기는 K-POP(한국 가요) 전용극장이 27일 문을 연다고 일본 언론이 10일 보도했다.
보도에 따르면 이 극장의 이름은 ‘케이 시어터 도쿄(K THEATER TOKYO)’로 27일 도쿄 시부야(澁谷)구 에비스(惠比壽)의 ‘에비스 가든 시네마’라는 영화관이 있던 자리에 들어선다.
케이 시어터 도쿄의 객석은 198석이다. 극장 측은 앞으로 1년간 관객이 10만∼12만명에 이를 것으로 기대하고 있다.
첫 무대는 21인조 남성 그룹 ‘에이피스(Apeace)’가 7명씩 세 그룹으로 나눠 장식할 예정이다.
