Orange Ball highlights 50 years of ties

March 8, 2011 - 17:25 By
The Dutch community is planning an event to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Korea and the Netherlands.

The highlight of the festive program includes a performance by Dutch pop showband “Beethoven.”

Besides dinner and dancing, an extra attraction will be an intermezzo in which an example of Korean culture will be presented.

In order to boost the charity funds raised at the Dutch Orange Ball, they plan on having two well-known Dutch contemporary painters as guests.

Geert Jan Jansen and Ellen van Baren will each donate one of their works for pre-auction and silent auction during the evening.

To commemorate the start of the golden jubilee with a strong emphasis on mutual trade and investment, the Netherlands Embassy is planning a string of events in April, of which the Orange Ball will be the first.

The recently founded Dutch Association in Korea, which is endorsed by the Netherlands Embassy, is taking the lead in organizing the Orange Ball.

The event will take place on April 2 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
