Judith Kerr’s book about a tiger that eats all the food in a little girl’s house has turned into a reality.

A huge tiger named Enzo is living with a family as their pet in Brakpan, South Africa.

Michael Jamison and Jackie Smit brought nine-week-old Enzo into their home in 2011, but as he grows he now eats 11 pounds of meat a day.

His life is the same as other pets: sharing the place with 14 other dogs, lying on the bed and sprawling on the sofa.

“He is happy living with us -- but we have to remember he is still a tiger,” said Jamison.

한 가족이 호랑이를 애완 동물로 키우고 있어 화제가 되고 있다.

남아프리카 공화국에 사는 마이클 제미슨과 재키 스밋은 작년에 9주 된 새끼 호랑이 엔조를 집으로 데려왔다. 1년이 지난 지금, 엔조는 하루에 11파운드 (5키로) 정도의 고기를 먹을 정도로 커졌다.

이 호랑이는 다른 애완 견 14마리와 함께 지내면서 침대나 소파에 누워있는 등 일반 애완 동물처럼 살고 있다.

제미슨은 “엔조는 우리와 행복한 삶을 살고 있지만, 우리는 엔조가 호랑이라는 사실을 잊지 말아야 한다”고 말했다.
