A Washington state man said he does not know the origins of the giant ice chunk that crashed though his roof and into his home.

Sam Edmon of Edgewood said he was in bed at 11 p.m. June 4 when he heard a noise that sounded like an explosion, The Seattle Post Intelligencer reported Thursday.

Edmon said he investigated the next morning and found a hole in his roof surrounded by chunks of ice.

The homeowner said he suspected the ice came off the wing of a plane, but the Federal Aviation Administration told him there were no planes over his house at the time of the incident.

Edmond, who said a piece of airplane engine landed in his back yard in 1984, said the repair bill from the ice crash was just under $1,000. (UPI)

샘 에드몬은 4일 밤 11시경(현지시각) 침대에 누워있던 중 폭발음과 같은 굉음을 들었다.

이튿날 아침 일어나 집주변을 살펴보던 에드몬은 그의 집 지붕에 난 구멍과 큰 얼음덩어리를 발견했다고 말했다.

그는 얼음이 비행기의 날개에서 떨어진 것으로 추정했지만 미국연방항공국은 사고가 발생한 시간에 주변지역 상공을 난 비행기는 없었다고 말했다.

에드몬드는 1984년에도 그의 뒷마당에 비행기 엔진의 부품이 떨어진 적이 있다고 말했다.

그는 이 얼음 추락 사고로 1,000달러의 수리비용을 지출하게 됐다.
