A man boating with his girlfriend and her daughter appears to have killed the woman and himself, leaving the girl alone, police in Britain said Monday.

An autopsy determined the woman was killed by strangulation before her body was thrown into the water in the Norfolk Broads, The Daily Telegraph reported. Her body and the body of her suspected killer were found Sunday after police discovered the 13-year-old on a rented cabin cruiser.

The man drowned, police said.

"We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident," Detective Inspector Jes Fry of the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team said.

Fry urged the news media to leave the girl in peace, saying she is now being cared for by relatives. She was apparently too scared or traumatized to seek help until police went to the boat. (UPI)

해당지역 형사 제스 프라이(Jes Fry)는 “우리는 이 사건과 연루된 다른 용의자를 찾지 않고 않습니다”라며 자살한 남성이 사건의 유력한 용의자임을 암시했다.

이 형사는 사고를 당한 딸이 친척들의 보살핌을 받고 있다며, 언론에게 지나친 관심을 피해 달라고 당부했다. 

노퍽 브로즈는 잉글랜드 동쪽 끝에 있는 습지대로 희귀 동식물이 많아 인기 관광지로 꼽힌다.
