The World Taekwondo Federation will hold an international art contest for students, aged between 10 and 12, as a part of its “World Peace through Taekwondo” projects.
With the theme “Peace and Taekwondo,” the 192 member nations of the organization will each hold their respective art contests to select their best works before making submissions at the World Championships, slated for May 1-6 in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province.
There is no restriction on the size and medium of the works and there is no limit to the number of entries by each country, according to the WTF. After thorough screening and selection procedures by the WTF board committee, the winners will be announced through the WTF’s official website at www.wtf.org.
The awards ceremony and exhibition will take place, depending on the number of entries, either at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Vladivostok, Russia on July 29 or in Seoul on U.N. International Day of Peace on Sept. 21.
The WTF will also hold a photo contest with the same theme during the 2011 World Taekwondo Championships. Photos can be entered online through the WTF home page and can also be submitted directly at the championship venue in Gyeongju during the competition.
