Jang Beom-jun (CJ E&M)
Jang Beom-jun, vocalist and guitarist of alternative band Busker Busker, will release a new solo album this year, CJ E&M said Wednesday.
“Jang, who is in charge of writing and composing Busker Busker’s songs, is currently working on a new solo album. He aims to have it ready by the end of this year,” said CJ E&M, which will act as the official distributor.
Jang has been preparing for a solo debut under a self-established one-man agency.
“Whether Jang will sing solo only with a guitar or as part of a new band is yet to be determined,” said CJ E&M.
Jang rose to prominence as the leader of Busker Busker, the runner-up of the 2011 audition program “Superstar K3.” The trio has released two chart-topping albums which included hit singles such as “Cherry Blossom Ending,” “Love, At First” and “Yeosu Night Sea.”
In April 2013, Jang married actress Song Ji-su, and Chungchun Music announced in December that year that Busker Busker would cease activities for the time being as the members pursue independent paths.
