The evaluation team to inspect the on-site of Daegu, one of candidates for the 2011 world athletic championships, arrived in the evening on 22nd February. 


Jongha Yoo, the president of the bidding committee, and the bidding committee members welcomed the delegations of IAAF at Incheon international airport and arrived at Daegu with the evaluation team. 


With waving flags, about 500 citizens passionately welcomed the evaluation team at Daegu airport. Also, the crowds were waving the board with individual portrait of the evaluation team.


The evaluation team members were impressed when they looked down the lighting world cup stadium in the airplane heading for Daegu. In addition, they said it was the first time to receive the fervent welcome. They expressed their thanks for such welcome.


The delegation will inspect on-site and villages etc. for 2 days from tomorrow. Also, they will check the financial plan, sponsors and government support.


In this inspection, Daegu will present the predominant stadium and the village facilities which are superior to that of competition. Also, it is expected that the capability to run the world championships such as U championships and world cup will be evaluated.
