Australia Embassy recruiting bloggers

April 17, 2011 - 18:32 By
In celebration of the Year of Friendship, the Australian Embassy is recruiting university student bloggers who hold a special interest in the country down under.

The chosen 50 student online reporters will be provided with opportunities to experience Australia by participating and covering a series of Year of Friendship events and activities.

The events include the aboriginal art exhibition BALGO; a special performance by renowned Australian didgeridoo player William Barton; the Australian a cappella group Suade at “Meet Australia at Ewha Festival;” “The Great Wall of Books,” an interactive art installation at the Hi! Seoul Festival; Korea-Australia Exchange Exhibition: Australia Digital Urban Portraits at the Seoul Museum of Art and a performance by Australian modern dance group Chunky Move.

Student online reporters who produce outstanding coverage of the events will be presented with an official completion certificate from the Australian ambassador and their work will be published on the Year of Friendship’s official website and iPhone application.

Furthermore, a final assessment process will be conducted to select the top two online reporters.

The first prize winner will be awarded with two round-trip flight tickets to Australia, and the second runner-up will be presented with an accommodation voucher and one round-trip flight ticket to Western Australia.

Interested university student bloggers, including foreigners, residing in Korea are eligible to apply by April 25.

Application forms can be downloaded from the Australia-Korea Year of Friendship 201 website at www.australiakorea50.com.
