Polish Embassy marks end of EU presidency

Dec. 25, 2011 - 17:55 By Korea Herald
The Polish Embassy in Korea has held a reception in Seoul to mark the end of Poland’s presidency of the European Union.

The event hosted by Polish Ambassador Krzysztof Majka at the Seoul Hilton hotel was held to recognize Poland’s role in Europe as its six-month period at the head of the EU Parliament draws to a close at the year’s end.

He and his wife greeted other foreign diplomats in Korea at the Hilton Hotel in Seoul on Wednesday.

The European Parliament has a rotating presidential system which sees a different EU member state take the top position every six months. Denmark will take the helm from Jan. 1.

It should also be noted that the Polish Embassy in Seoul will be closed on Dec. 26 and on Jan. 6.
