Nov. 3, 2013 - 19:32 By Korea Herald
Envoys representing the diplomatic missions of as many as 10 Latin American countries commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Latin American Cultural Center in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on Oct. 25.

The celebration highlighted centenary prints of Mexican artists Jose Maria Velasco and Jose Guadalupe Posada, and collections of Mola needlework by Panamanian Cuna Indians, according to the center.

The Panamanian Embassy will host a seminar in Seoul on Nov. 14, when it will celebrate its Independence Day here. Experts from Morgan & Morgan, one of the world’s largest legal, fiduciary and financial services firms, will hold a seminar entitled “Panama, Connecting the World” before the reception.

The Latin American Cultural Center houses multiple venues dedicated to the culture and food of the Americas, including a museum, sculpture garden and Mexican restaurant.

Since its opening in 1993, the center has become a popular destination for local culture explorers, with as many as 2,000 people visiting on sunny weekends.
