A Thailand-trained therapist says anti-aging treatment is possible just by slapping and massaging the face, according to U.S. news sources.

Tata Sombuntham, who claims to be the first face-slapping practitioner in the western hemisphere, says she can remove wrinkles and tighten skin with this unusual treatment.

She and her husband Mawan run a beauty salon in San Francisco where they charge clients $350 (385,000 won) for each 15-minute session of face-slapping. Sombuntham says this is “ancient Thai wisdom.”

“This is definitely not rubbish, this is very serious,” says Mawan, arguing that the results are visible immediately after treatment.

Treatment by slapping has been practiced in Thailand for years, according to Britain’s the Independent. The Thai health ministry even sponsored a study which claimed that massaging helped enlarge certain body parts of female volunteers.

In Bangkok, a 44-year-old Khunying Tobnom is utilizing this “wisdom.” In addition to helping her clients beef up parts of their body, she provides body-slapping, face-slapping training courses, which costs at $330,000 and $164,000, respectively.

“I believe my wisdom is very valuable. It’s a heritage from my grandmother and I’m the only one in the world who can practice this wisdom,” says Tobnom.

보도에 따르면 태국 정부는 가슴을 손으로 때려서 확대시키는 것이 가능하다는 연구를 지원한 적이 있다고 한다.

방콕에서 이러한 “때리기 시술소”를 운영하는 쿠닝 톱놈(44) 씨는 시술 외에 몸 때리기, 가슴 때리기, 얼굴 때리기 강의를 제공하고 있는데, 각각 33만 달러, 26만3천달러, 16만4천달러가 든다고 한다.

“제 지혜는 매우 귀중한 것입니다. 제 할머니로부터 물려받은 것인데 이 기술을 쓸 수 있는 사람은 세상에서 저밖에 없어요”라고 톱놈 씨는 말했다
