The Embassy of Brazil has officially opened their Honorary Consulate in Busan to service the southern part of the country.
“We appreciate the commitment of Honorary Consul Hyun Jeong-eun (Hyundai Group chairperson) and her team in organizing the office,” said Brazil Ambassador Edmundo Fujita during the opening of the honorary consulate which will serve all cities in the Jeolla, Gyeongsang and Jeju provinces.
The ambassador explained that the honorary consular acts as an “arm” of the embassy and has as the primary objective to assist Brazilians in emergency situations, while at the same time to promote cultural and commercial relations between the two countries.
The Brazil Honorary Consulate in Busan is located on the 7th floor of the Busan Post Office Building at Jungang-dong 3ga1, Jung-gu, 600-013.
They will operate from Monday to Friday, from 3-5 p.m.
To contact them, either email them at busanconsular@brasemb.or.kr, honoraryconsul@brasemb.or.kr or call them at 051-461-6925.
The embassy has set up a delivery system to handle all consular matters between the Busan office and the embassy in Seoul.
Requests from Brazilian citizens for certificate of residence, certificate of marital status, authentication of documents, travel authorization for minors, driver’s license, passports and notarization will still have to be made in person at the Consular Section of the embassy in Seoul. Once the necessary paperwork has been completed, those documents are then sent to the office in Busan where the applicant can pick them up.
The Honorary Consulate will provide only logistical support for delivery of documents.
Questions about processing as well as complaints and suggestions should be sent to seulcons@kornet.net.
