FP College, a private education institution for finance, will hold months-long camps on weekends for those looking to become investment and financial professionals, it said Tuesday.

The institution will run customized consulting programs for a group of 20 selected candidates studying to attain financial qualifications such as Associate Financial Planner Korea and Certified Financial Planner.

“The 20 students are selected from a pool of about 200 applicants eager to enter the industry. Financial experts from brokerages with decades of experience will mentor them on how to land a finance job,” a spokesman at FP college said.

The curriculum includes financial knowledge tests, sales know-how in the industry, English lessons and interview tips. The course will start this Saturday and run for two and a half months. Dubbed Private Banking Camp, the course focuses on providing career advice for students as well as equipping them with the skills demanded in the private banking industry.

“Competition to enter the industry is quite stiff, and there aren’t many education institutions specializing on providing financial knowledge. The Private Banking Camp aims to provide knowledge and skills required to become a successful asset manager,” the spokesman said.

FP College specializes in classes on AFPK and CFP, financial qualifications demanded by the industry. Mentors at FP College help students find jobs even after they attain those qualifications.

The company often provides PB camps run by commercial banks to train their workers.
