LSIS stresses smart grid

LSIS CEO Koo Ja-kyun stressed the importance of the implementation of the smart grid to cope with possible shortages of energy resources.

Speaking at the Asia Clean Energy Forum in Manila, the Philippines, on Wednesday, he stressed the need to implement smart energy solutions such as smart grids as power efficiency becomes more important.

In his keynote speech titled “Smart Grid: Futuring Smart Energy,” he introduced Korean smart energy technologies such as water and solar energy, energy storage systems and high-voltage direct currents.

The LS chief later flew to Japan to attend the board of directors meeting for the Global Smart Grid Federation on Thursday.

Koo, who served as the first vice chairman of the GSGF, presented another keynote speech encouraging Southeast Asian countries to join GSGF and introduced Korea’s new energy industry policies.
