Samsung SDS invests in Darktrace, Blocko

[THE INVESTOR] Samsung SDS, the IT solutions unit of Samsung Group, said on July 14 it has recently decided to invest into UK-based security solutions developer Darktrace and Korean blockchain venture Blocko.

“With the latest investments, we aim to carry out diverse ICT projects,” the company said in a statement. 


“We will strengthen our security solutions and services through Darktrace’s next-generation security solutions, while with Blocko we will apply blockchain technology to diverse areas such as the Internet of Things.”

Darktrace is a cybersecurity solutions developer using machine learning technology. Its solutions detect abnormal behaviors or threats in IT infrastructure systems.

Blocko is a blockchain specialist. Its technology is used in software stores and transfers data across the Internet to prevent hacking or forgery. It is widely being adopted in financial technology, IoT and medical sectors.

Samsung SDS said it will continue to invest in futuristic technologies such as artificial intelligence, analytics and IoT.
