BoA returns with ‘Only One’

The K-pop queen is back. BoA, one of the first generation K-pop stars who led hallyu in the early 2000s will release her new album this weekend, her agency, S.M. Entertainment said.

Her seventh full-length album “Only One” will be released on Sunday online and on July 25 offline. It is her first album in two years after her sixth album “Hurricane Venus” in 2010.

The 26-year-old star will promote her new album with the lead song “Only One,” which is her first experience in song-writing, S.M. Entertainment said. “Not only with her first songwriting experience, the style icon is expected to surprise the audience with her new fashion, hair and make-up style,” it said.

BoA will make a comeback show, exclusively produced and broadcast by SBS on July 28, it added.

Debuted on Aug. 27, 2000, with her first album “ID: Peace B,” the solo artist built her international career as well by releasing albums in Japan and the United States. In 2002, she made a debut in Japan with “Listen to My Heart” and a single, “Eat You Up,” in 2008 in the United States.

Recently, she appeared as one of three judges in popular SBS survival show “K-pop Star,” along with two leading figures in the country’s entertainment industry ― Yang Hyun-seok of YG Entertainment and Park Jin-young of JYP Entertainment. In the show, BoA represented S.M. Entertainment.
