British singer-songwriter Elton John is coming to Korea in November to hold concerts in Seoul and Busan, promoters in Seoul said Friday.

The pop legend will perform at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul on Nov. 27 and at BEXCO in Busan on Nov. 29. The two concerts are a part of his world tour titled “40th Anniversary of the Rocket Man Tour,” Access Entertainment said in a press release. Before coming to Korea, he will perform in Australia, China and Hong Kong.

This is his first concert in Seoul in eight years. In 2004, the iconic musician held a major concert at the Olympic Stadium with more than 250,000 fans in attendance.

Born Reginald Kenneth Dwight, he built up a reputation as a solo piano performer in his early career but quickly rose to fame when he began to produce hit songs with lyricist Bernie Taupin in 1967.

For the last 40 years, Sir Elton John sold more than 250 million records worldwide, making him one of top-selling artists in modern music history along with The Beatles, Madonna and Michael Jackson.

He recently returned to No. 1 on the charts with “Good Morning to the Night,” in which he collaborated with Australian electronic duo Pnau for the 2012 London Olympics.

He was listed as one of the highest-paid musicians in the world by Forbes magazine. Forbes estimated that the Rocket Man earned more than $80 million last year from a series of performances and from the animation film “Gnomeo & Juliet.”
