The GS Value Creation Forum was organized by the group to share the success stories of innovation among workers and executives at its affiliates.
Huh also stressed the importance of the group’s human resources, saying they were seeking innovation at the forefront, including at local work sites.
“It is our employees and managers outside offices that have been the source of GS’ achievements,” he said in his speech.
The chairman added that the group had launched several new businesses, including GS Energy.
“That is when we need to reinforce on-site operations in every possible way,” he said.
The 10 subsidiary companies of GS Group each came up with an individual case study on how to strengthen quality and competitiveness by upgrading operational methodology.
“Let us focus on content and quality rather than in form and size,” Huh said.
GS Caltex Corp. chairman Hur Dong-soo and about 400 executives at affiliates with the conglomerate showed up at the forum.
