A Quebec private girls' school that held a hypnotism demonstration which left several students dazed says that in retrospect it should have taken the activity more seriously.

The demonstration by a young hypnotist at Quebec's College Sacre-Coeur on June 7, left one girl in a four-hour trance, five more students in a daze and 13 students feeling nauseous and with headaches. The hypnotists mentor had to be called in to snap the girls out of it, school officials said.

Principal Daniel Leveille said Tuesday they didn't realize that people 14 and younger are more susceptible to hypnosis and they regret not seeking parental authorization. (AP)

젊은 최면술사, 여학생들에게 최면걸자…

캐나다 퀘백주의 한 사립 여학교에서 최면술을 본 학생들이 실제로 최면 상태에 빠진 사건이 발생했다.

지난 7일 젊은 최면술사의 시술과정을 지켜보던 중 5명의 여학생은 멍한 상태 빠졌으며, 13명의 학생은 두통과 함께 어지러움을 호소했다. 

다른 한 학생은 무려 한  4시간 동안 최면상태에 빠져 결국 초보 최면술사의 선생을 불러 학생들을 최면에서 빠져 나오도록 도와야 했다고 학교 관계자가 말했다.

대니얼 르베일리 교장은 지난 화요일 14세 이하의 학생들이 최면의 영향을 더 쉽게 받는다는 사실을 인지하지 못했다고 말하며 부모의 동의를 받지 않은 것에 대해 유감을 표명했다.
