Actor Mel Gibson’s stepmother Teddy Gibson, 78, accused him of terrorizing her with verbal abuse, citing “acts of domestic violence” by the 56-year-old movie star.

She requested a restraining order, while Mel Gibson didn’t comment on the issue.

Teddy Gibson and John Gibson married in 2001 but the two are now divorcing. She claims his son was behind the estranged relations with her husband.

Prior to the latest brawl, the actor was involved in another domestic violence case against his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva in 2010. Grigorieva eventually dropped the charges a year later.

Best known for his role as detective Martin Riggs in the “Lethal Weapon” movie series, Gibson also directed award-winning films such as “Braveheart” and “The Passion of the Christ.”

사건에 앞서 멜 깁슨은 전 애인인 옥사나 그리고리에바와 지난 2010년 가정 폭력 사건에 연루된 바 있다. 결국 그리고리에바는 일년 후 고소를 취하했다.

멜 깁슨은 "리썰 웨폰" 시리즈에서 마틴 릭스 형사 역을 맡아 유명세를 얻었으며, "브레이브하트," "패션오브크라이스트"와 같은 수상작들을 연출하기도 했다.
