May 13, 2014 - 20:34 By Korea Herald
This summer, Hyundai Card is once again launching the two-day rock festival Hyundai Card Citybreak 2014, which brought world-famous bands Muse and Metallica among other local and foreign musicians to Seoul last year.

The festival will take place on Aug. 9-10 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

The first Hyundai Card Citybreak rock festival took place in 2013 and was attended by over 75,000 rock fans. It featured an impressive artist lineup that included headliners Muse and Metallica, as well as Iggy and The Stooges, Limp Bizkit, Ash, The Used and White Lies, among other local bands.

This year, the festival is scheduled to bring in over 30 acts ranging from internationally renowned bands to popular local musicians. Compared to 2013, this year’s upgraded lineup will appeal to wider audiences, given that it will include not only rock bands but also musicians from more diverse genres, according to the credit card company.

The festival will offer not only performances, but also a number of on-site activities and programs, food and beverage stalls, cool zones, refresh zones and rest areas as well.

Prior to announcing the first artist lineup, Hyundai Card will offer “blind ticket” sales to Hyundai Card members at 12 p.m. on May 15. Just 3,000 two-day passes priced at 164,000 won will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis through Interpark.

Those who purchase a blind ticket will receive a “fast track pass” that allows holders to enter the festival through a special gate as well as a 10,000 won voucher for on-site use.

Hyundai Card will release more information about regular ticket sales and the artist line-up in the coming months.
