Lee Soo-man, the head of the most successful talent agency and top-ranking stock-rich celebrity, ranks No. 1 on the value of real estate holdings among entertainment businesspeople, market research showed Sunday.

A building owned by Lee, a former singer who heads SM Entertainment, in southern Seoul was estimated to be worth 19.08 billion won ($17.8 million), according to Chaebul.com, a website that tracks the wealth of the rich. The appraisal is based on the construction cost, the building's age and location, and is used in setting tax rates, but the actual market value is believed to be three times more.

Combined with another building he owns, Lee's real estate holdings are estimated at between 54 billion-56 billion won in market value.

Chaebul.com had picked 36 top-level celebrities and appraised 42 buildings registered to them. Seven people were found to own a building officially valued at 10 billion won or higher.

Seo Tai-ji, a singer, came in second with 16.04 billion won. He was followed by Yang Hyun-suk, who runs YG Entertainment, whose real estate was tagged at 15.35 billion won.

Lee's stockholdings were valued at 186.6 billion won in another survey by Chaebul.com in December, making him the most stock-rich celebrity in the country. Yang was second with 174 billion won. (Yonhap News)
